Fuel Management
Get to grips with your fuel costs before prices rise again!
It is now expected that fuel prices will rise this year by as much as 15p per litre. This will compound the problem of running cost effective vehicle fleets when prices have increased in just about every area of vehicle operations. Plus legislation changes coming soon will outlaw the claiming of VAT against fuel reimbursed against your drivers expenses.
You should be working pro-actively to manage your fuel bills, which is far more than simply insisting your drivers fill up at Supermarkets rather than on motorways. By utilising fleet industry best practice, many companies have seen significant reductions in their fuel spend, some by as much as 20%. Here are a few guidelines to point you in the right direction:
- Do your drivers have fuel cards showing the Registration Number of their vehicle?
- Do your drivers have to provide mileage data every time they fill up?
- Do you analyse your fuel spend in detail to minimise fraud?
- Do you produce MPG results and compare drivers?
